October 15, 2020. For two years, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) transformed a dilapidated military barracks into the Anti-Crisis Training Center. This state-of-the-art facility replete with shooting simulators, vehicle simulators, workout rooms, dormitory rooms and classrooms equipped with the latest technological innovations was transferred to the Kazakhstan National Guard on 15 October. The “ACTC” is another example of the broad cooperation that has taken place between the United States and Kazakhstan over the past 26 years in the area of non-proliferation. This world-class facility provides Kazakhstan with a venue for its security forces to receive critical training on guarding its nuclear sites and responding to incidents within its borders, while ensuring the fruitful partnership between DTRA and the Kazakhstan National Guard continues well into the future.
