Defense Threat Reduction Office Transferred Property To The Kazakhstan National Guard Unit At Kurchatov
On October 7th, the Defense Threat Reduction Office transferred watchtowers, vehicles, snowmobiles, quadricycles, radios, satellite phones, tactical equipment and training gear to the Kazakhstan National Guard unit at Kurchatov. This equipment will be used by the National Guard in their critical role protecting the nearby Semipalatinsk Test Site and nuclear reactor complexes, in a most challenging environment, and is part of a broader nuclear security partnership that has been in place for over 26 years. Also transferred was a computer classroom with 21 workstations, enabling members of the National Guard to now capably perform online training and participate in remote training provided by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
