Jeff Hoffman, founding partner in the venture accelerator ColorJar and former executive at Priceline.com, spent four exciting days in Astana from January 30-February 2. He kicked off his packed schedule with remarks at the Embassy during a fashion show by design students of the Astana College of Business and Management.
During his time in Astana, Mr. Hoffman also made presentations to government officials, young entrepreneurs, business owners, NGO leaders, and students at venues including the Eurasian National University, Kazakhstan Agrotechnical University, the National Academic Library, and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs’ headquarters, which broadcast his lecture to 16 cities in the regions of Kazakhstan. He gave interviews to Kursiv, 24.kz, Kazakhstanskaya Pravda, and Trend. Mr. Hoffman also spent four days in Almaty, where he presented to universities, government organizations, and business incubators.
Thousands of people attended Mr. Hoffman’s presentations in Astana, braving cold temperatures and traveling from as far away as Tashkent to hear advice about how to found, build, and grow entrepreneurial businesses using the internet and other contemporary tools. Mr. Hoffman not only provided practical hints from his business experience, but told inspiring stories to motivate his listeners to excellence in any field of endeavor.
The U.S. Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan was pleased to bring Jeff Hoffman to Kazakhstan and extends its heartfelt thanks to all the local partners who made this successful visit possible.
