Educators from the Muhammad Ali Center come to Kazakhstan

Float Like a Butterfly, Sting like a Bee:  Muhammad Ali Center Trainers Teach Kazakhstani Youth.  Two American trainers from the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky participated in a summer boxing camp for 30 youth and their trainers from six different regions of Kazakhstan August 15-19.  At the camp, organized through a partnership between the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstani Boxing Federation, and the Kazakhstani charitable organization “Perekrestok,” the American educators taught lessons focused on the core principle of discipline.  In March, a delegation of young boxers and their trainers traveled to the United States, where they visited the Ali Center and learned about the life and legacy of Muhammad Ali.  The Boxing Federation trainers will continue to work with these youth, helping them to use the skills they learned in the United States and during the summer camp to be effective mentors and positive role models in their communities.
