Go Viral “Goes Viral” with Hybrid Regional Festival

May 11th – Registration for the 5th annual Go Viral Festival launches today. This year’s festival will take place in a hybrid format June 11-20: some events will take place in person in Almaty, Kazakhstan (Hide Park) as well as in Dushanbe, Tashkent, and Bishkek, based on local conditions.  In addition, most of the workshops, keynotes, panel discussions and pitching sessions will be accessible online to everyone in Central Asia and worldwide via Go Viral’s YouTube channel, Facebook live, Zoom platforms, and the brand new Go Viral mobile application that will launch just before the festival.

Registration is free of charge and available now at www.goviral.kz.

Go Viral 2021 explores (un)discovered Central Asia. The idea behind this theme is to allow ourselves and the world to discover and rediscover Central Asia from different perspectives.  As always, the festival will provide a platform to learn, network, and share new ideas in media, business, culture and technology.

Launched in 2017, the Go Viral festival and network seeks to empower journalists, entrepreneurs, filmmakers, and musicians to leverage social and mass media, culture, business, and technology to connect with the world.  The U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Kazakhstan provides support for the initiative, as part of its commitment to civil society, innovation, and creativity in Central Asia.

“This year Central Asian countries are celebrating their 30th anniversary of independence.  The United States is proud to support Central Asia’s next generation of innovators, influencers, and leaders.  Emerging from the pandemic, we know we need big thinkers to help find solutions to shared problems not only locally, but also regionally and globally.  I’m thrilled to be a part of this network and look forward to being motivated and inspired, including through this year’s unique festival format”, noted Anand Krishna, Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Almaty.

Go Viral 2021 will include a range of topics likely to appeal to diverse audiences, including artificial intelligence, technology in medicine; data science, fact checking, storytelling, climate challenges, and much more.  Visit our website to learn more about our speakers, the festival schedule, and other updates. You can also stay up to date through Go Viral social media: Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, and YouTube.

We look forward to seeing you, offline or online, at this year’s festival!
