On October 18, S. Begalin Children’s Library, the Almaty American Corner’s partner institution hosted a “Night in the Library”, an outstanding event devoted to the United States of America. The “Night” was supported by the U.S. Consulate General as a part of the Almaty American Corner program promoting American culture, literature and history. The library organized the program as a flight journey to different destinations, such as “Cowboy ranch”, “Hollywood”, “Broadway”, “Scary stories with Edgar Allan Poe” and “Native Americans”. During four hours 130 kids learned through games about the United States and participated in quizzes. Regional Information Resource Officer Valorie Lee delivered welcoming remarks at the opening of the “Night”.
