The U.S. Embassy is holding the second annual Kazakhstan Spelling Bee competition for Kazakhstan’s university and college students

The U.S. Embassy is holding the second annual Kazakhstan Spelling Bee competition for Kazakhstan’s university and college students in support of the Government of Kazakhstan’s policy of multilingualism. The competition is a fun way to promote the study of English language among youth. Local Spelling Bees took place at 11 American Corners. 33 participants from each region come to Astana to participate at the National Spelling Bee.

The Spelling Bee contest has been a big part of American culture for more than 90 years. The contestants need to correctly spell the word given to them by the MC.

The top five winners of the Kazakhstan National Spelling Bee will participate in the Central Asian Regional Spelling Bee and will compete against winners from the Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan. The Central Asian Spelling Bee will take place on March 10, 2018 in Almaty.

Kazakhstan National Spelling Bee will take place on Saturday, February 17 at 12:00 at the Events Auditorium Hall of the Eurasian National University, 11 Kazhymukan Street , 2nd floor.
