Reg. ESTH Officer: Justin Heung
The Central Asia Regional Environmental Hub Office is responsible for monitoring and reporting on trans-boundary environment, science, technology, and health issues in six countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan.
The Hub Office works with multilateral donor agencies, bilateral missions, regional institutions, and government agencies to advocate on behalf of U.S. government positions in international negotiations, represent U.S. environment and science agencies, and oversees the implementation of projects funded through the Department of State and other U.S. government agencies. It provides support to posts in the Hub’s area of responsibility on the full range of environment, science, technology, and health issues. The main Hub office is located in Astana, Kazakhstan, and the branch office is in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
