An official handover ceremony of a newly-renovated training center was held April 10 at KAZCENT -Partnership for Peace Training Center. U.S. Consul General Theresa Grencik, KAZCENT Commander Colonel Oleg Essenov and Major Justin Colbert, Chief of the Office of Military Cooperation, participated in the ceremony, along with KAZCENT personnel.
The Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) funded a six-month construction project at the KAZCENT PfP Training Center, which worth around 216 000 USD. These renovations at the KAZCENT PfP Training Center will enhance the center’s capabilities to train Kazakhstani troops for UN peacekeeping missions.
The U.S. Embassy and Office of Military Cooperation have cooperated with KAZCENT PfP since 2010. This bilateral cooperation between the United States and Kazakhstan has resulted in the improvement of KAZCENT’s physical facilities, development of new training courses and acquisition of mobile training kits.
